Congratulations on completing another school year with your child!! What an exciting feeling and, if you are like me, you are looking forward to putting away the workbooks and to have a more relaxed routine for a couple of months…a time to enjoy your immediate and extended family, friends, God’s creation and all the fun that summer holds.

Maybe your children need incentive to do some reading…KidPointz has some fun reading charts to choose from. You and your child can come up with a goal and a prize once they have completed the sheet (such as spending money to a bookstore, some dollar store toys or special time alone with mom or dad).
Your local public library is also a great resource and they often also host special summer reading programs with special events!
Perhaps you’re not wanting any routine – maybe consider creating a homeschool “Bucket List” of fun things your children would like to do this summer…with things like “have a crazy jumping contest at your local pool, paint flower pots, learn a new card game, make a new dessert, etc.”)
Simply Real Moms have a fun printable with 50 Free Things to do with your kids that might have some unique ideas to try.
Some other ideas to try: * Interest-Led Unit Studies (check out Amanda Bennett or Homeschool Share for some lapbooks) * Go geocaching * Lego Games * Visit a provincial park * Check out a local zoo, farm, garden or historical site | 25 at Home Science Experiments |
